Tennessee man gets electric chair for killing fellow inmate
Out of this article this is the sentence that really gets me. 1 he's been on death row since 86 and 2 killing 3 people (including his grandma!)wasn't what got him the death sentence. 🤦🏼♀️
"Sutton was sentenced to death in 1986 for killing fellow inmate Carl Estep in a conflict over a drug deal while both were incarcerated in an East Tennessee prison, where Sutton had been serving time for the killings of his grandmother and two others when he was 18."
@MrsT : I've just accepted that, that **** takes forever between initial sentencing and appeals. It's my understanding the real time doesn't even begin until the appeal process is over; but yeah, that's pretty ridiculous.
The longer the delay in carrying out the sentence handed down at his trial, Guess what the more Money the lawyers will get paid by the state. All death sentence should be carried out with IN 30 days. We really don't have a death sentence if that guy was convicted in 1986 and he wasn't put to death until 2020. That's 36 years that the state has paid attorney fees, room and board, medical, security, etc. And probably 3 attorneys at $500.00 per hour EACH. for 36 years.
