@ginx : I get it. Have a small antenna with an amplifier, nothing special but it's a roof mount.

I have a small flat antenna in my attic with an amplifier, I get channel 11. I just put it in the southwest side of my attic.

Overhead planes interfere with the signal.

We get 11, 2, and 13 and several others with just cheaper small antenna in attic. No booster, hung it from a rafter on SW corner.

@ginx : Booster? I'll have to ask the husband what brand it is. I know we've replaced it once. The antenna is one from Radio Shack bought back in 2000. Lol.

Bought a Clearstream digital antenna. It's good for 50 miles as the transmitters are located on the Ft. Bend tollway near Hwy 6. Mounted on the chimney. Get everything without a booster. The antenna is small, barely noticeable.

@ginx : In my study, I have a small TV (I guess it is Smart but doesn't appear too much) and I have a cheap booster antenna and it gets several 11's and 13's. I can't seem to get 2 but I really haven't tried hard. For under $25 for sure you should get most of the channels. I have a Visio up in my gameroom and I just noticed it now has some kind of service to it for the channels and more. I haven't gotten the kid to look at it and fix it but I just watch movies up there. We have internet only with really high speed unlimited so anything on that goes through the internet. I need to see what the Visio deal is because it would be worth buying another TV for the study if it gets free stations.

Live in an apartment and have cut cable. No outside atennas, no attic etc. The CBS app for $5-6/month was a no-brainer.

You also get way more on demand shows then you do if you subscribe (at least to the crappy one I belong to but am Grandfathered in) to a online "cable" package (i.e. DirectTVNow, Hulu, YouTube).

Got an email this morning from a company called locast. They rebroadcast local channels to streaming devices like roku and firestick and it's free. I added it as a channel on my roku and I get all the channels I was getting over my antenna but without the interference from all the jets flying overhead. Check out locast.org.
