We are thinking about getting ourselves one for Christmas. Thats what my wife and I usually do instead of going crazy on each other. Lol. Buy something we both want for us and spend the rest on the kids.

The ribs look great!

I loved my air fryer, but DW bought me one so small that if you are cooking for more than 2-3 you will be making several batches of whatever you are making. I keep trying to get her to let me pawn it off on one of my younger relatives and get us a larger unit like that Cuisinart, there's no way I could get a rack of ribs (even 1/2 rack) in mine.

@Astrokatz : Those look wonderful. I have the same air fryer but wouldn't know how to begin to cook ribs. Would you please share your secrets? Were they as good as they look?

@sandman : Theoretically, the hot air in an air fryer is circulated much faster (especially since it has a smaller chamber) than a convection oven. ... Because air fryers have smaller chambers and higher speed air circulation than a convection oven, it actually takes less time than a traditional convection oven to bake/fry foods.

@Astrokatz :

But the principle is convection, correct?

Can you get crispy fried shrimp from this "fryer"?

@Clydepuckett : Correct. I can only speak of the Air Fryer I use. I have not tried breaded shrimp , but have naked shrimp. I have done breaded chicken an yes it was crispy. Like you are aware there are tricks to all types of devices to get the effect you want for a final product. The trick for the air fryer to crisp anything is a light mist of spray olive oil. Not spray Pam , that takes the plating of the air fryer. Clydepuckett check the bark on the ribs.
