Meth

Does anyone know the main ingredient?

I've been having horrible sinus pressure, so I dragged myself to the pharmacy to purchase the stuff used to make meth. Found some relief, but I'm having a hard time sleeping and eating. Is it the medicine or my sinuses?

Is anyone familiar with sinus pressure or the medicine behind the counter at the pharmacy? I'm lying here freaking out that I'm high on meth😂

@yomom : The medicine does help me breath but does nothing for my forehead and eyes. After the first night on this stuff I started using a neti pot morning & night. It has helped tremendously, except for the eating and sleeping part. Going on day 3 and it's only getting worse.

@eighteen : it's not meth. Meth is a combination of stuff with pseudoephedrine. It undergoes a chemical reaction to produce meth. None of the original ingredients remain. I took training when I worked at a state Forest to spot meth cookers. They hide them in the woods and come back later to retrieve.

@eighteen : if it's just getting worse you need to see a doc, I had pain like that back in 2013 and postponed a visit to the doctor because of the cost, when I did go she prescribed the completely unsuitable cephalexin which just made it flare up.

I ended up at the ER in agony and I was admitted because they were worried the infection may track back up my optic nerve to my brain.

There was no on call ENT at MH northeast so they took me to the medical centre and kept me in two nights, pumped me fill of steroids and antibiotics. The morning after my first night in hospital my eyes were swollen shut but it cleared up rapidly after that.

Sinus infections are not worth messing with and you at least need to rule out an infection, you won't clear it up without real antibiotics if you have one. If you go to a family doc insist on something heavy duty like Augmentin or a Z-pack because amoxicillin and cephalexin are not gonna do the trick.

@ParksideRes : I know IT'S not meth😂 However, it was taken off of shelves and put behind the counter because it's used as an ingredient to make meth. Past that, I don't know the details of making it. Just find it really strange that I'm having a hard time eating and sleeping after taking behind the counter sinus meds.

@eighteen : it's a stimulant. It's based off amphetamines. That's your "sleeplessness".

@GBinHOU : Thanks for the info. Today I feel like it's clearing up. If not completely gone within 7 days I will definitely be going to the doctor.

@eighteen : I went from nothing to hospital in four so I honestly wouldn't recommend waiting that long.

@GBinHOU : On day 4 and the sinuses are starting to clear up. The sleeplessness is getting worse; which makes more sense now that I know it's a stimulant.
