Finally! I always forget how long this takes (for the dried split peas to break down)! Perfect cold weather dinner! *hint: add a small splash of heavy cream at the end. The soup itself is so healthy and fat-free, it doesn't matter at all. But MAKES it! #stuffed

I love the cold weather. Not just for the cold, but also cooking. Don't get me wrong, I love to cook. But sometimes I'm so not in the mood, and soups/stews/bisques/gumbo/chilis/chowders, etc. are the best leftovers, so I get a little break! My fam will eat any of it for days until it's gone! 👍Leaves me time for Christmas shopping...Nothing to see here, honey! decorating and wrapping gifts.

Cold weather makes me want to bake. I made pumpkin cornbread, white country bread that I toasted into garlic bread and had it with spaghetti

@TXNS_fan : Thank you. It has more potatoes than leaks. And of course cheddar cheese, sautéed garlic and onion, half-and-half chicken broth and other spices. oh and definitely topped with crispy bacon LOL bacon rules!! 🥓🥓
