Constellation Electric?
Anyone got them? Have had them? They seem to have a pretty good deal going on in this area.

Whats your highest, lowest and average usage?

What I do when shopping is take my previous year or twos usage and put it in a spreadsheet with each companies pricing plan.

Some are leveraged for high users and those count on getting you in the winter. Some are for low users and punish you in the summer time. Haveto find the right compromize.

@cousindan :
we're usually always over 2k kwh. My bill with Reliant this month, with budget billing, is $530.

@Vinbert: That is not a good rate and I wouldn't recommend a 36 month plan. I use well over 2000 kwh a month and I have a 10.4 rate for 12 months.

@Vinbert : I have had them for years now, it was Startex then they changed over to Constellation. I have been with them for 13 years between the 2 names. Just make sure you understand the terms of the agreement. I have found them to be pretty honest.

@Vinbert : The best time to shop is December through March. I have Value Power and pay .68 cents per kwh.

@Vinbert :
Ouch! Yeah the constellation bill will be better. I took a look and the other deals are with low rated companies I never heard of or were more expensive.

I'm not sure about locking in that rate for 3 years but it is pretty good for this current market.

2 years seems to be the sweet spot for lowest cost nowadays.

I have looked into Constellation in the past would not have a problem going with them.
I have worked with, Startex, Gexa, Discount power and now Cirro. All are about the same as far as interface. I set them up for automatic bill pay on a credit card (cash back card) and watch the monthly bill emails to make sure things are OK. If there is a problem I can always dispute the charge on the credit card. My usage is down to about 900kWh in winter (Gas heaters) and a peek of 2500kWh this past summer with a 4 ton and a window unit going during the peek heat of the day. Bill never exceeded 300. so I was happy.

I've never checked a rating on a power company in my life. The only dealings I have with them is to pay my bill online. The number one factor for me is price.

TXU and Reliant are tricky. They always show you the kWh only price. You think you're getting a decent deal but they left out half the cost. รฐลธโ„ขโ€ž

@Jagger : My highest usage was 2700 and the bill was $308 and that is with the pool but..I live alone and my thermostat is upstairs and I set it at 77 daytime and I am downstairs which means downstairs temp is 73.
