I've just been in a blue funk today. An old friend texted me...we are in the same field and he texts every once in a while with a work-related question. We haven't been in touch in quite a while. In the conversation as we were catching up he told me that he had recently lost his wife to cancer. My heart is just sad...for him because he holds a special place in my heart, for his two boys who will grow up without their mother, and for her because I can't imagine how hard it was for her to leave her young sons. Plus it brings back the sadness of losing my mom to cancer. It's just been a yuck kind of day. Thank goodness for all the great one hit wonders y'all have posted...they made me smile
