Attention Amazon Shoppers! Have y'all heard about this? If you're a Prime member, be on the lookout for a check/Venmo/PayPal coming any day! Good chance you'll get one@8 The deets:
---------------
1. FTC Amazon Prime Settlement Refunds (Up to $200) Following a landmark $2.5 billion settlement reached by the Trump-Vance administration's Federal Trade Commission over deceptive Prime enrollment and cancellation practices ("dark patterns"), Amazon is issuing automatic payouts to eligible U.S. customers. • Who is eligible: U.S. consumers who were signed up via a challenged flow or struggled to cancel between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, and used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits within a 12-month period (expanding previous tiers). • How much you get: Payouts total up to $200 (an expansion from the initial $51 cap, meaning previous recipients can receive an additional $149). • How it arrives: Distributed automatically via mailed check, PayPal, or Venmo. No application, form, or fee is required. • Timeline: Expanded payments began distributing on October 1, 2026, and supplemental payments continue through April 2027. • Warning: The FTC warns that any phone call or message claiming you must pay or share details to get an FTC/Amazon refund is a scam. Not sure why Trump is behind it (He doesn't own the FTC, the government does), but whatevs! Happy savings (that has nothing to do with Peter to pay Paul)!

#msg2210064brightlights : He's involved because of the tarrifs ... In February 2026, the Supreme Court struck down President Trump's tariffs, ruling that the government owes businesses $166 billion in tariff refunds. Now, company earnings calls at the end of the second quarter are revealing how much these companies have received as a result of the ruling, and what they intend to do with the windfall. Amazon [NASDAQ:AMZN] CFO Brian Olsavsky said in an earnings call that the company received $600 million in tariff refunds and plans to distribute a portion of the funds back to a small selection of customers who paid specific import charges as a result of the tariffs. If I remember correctly, this is based on the items you purchased where Amazon is listed as the 'sold by' on your invoice. Luckily, most of what I buy is listed as Amazon ... Yay!
This is a separate issue. The op is referring to lawsuits about not being able to cancel memberships or signed up through deceptive means.

#msg2210074Catmae : This is a separate issue. The op is referring to lawsuits about not being able to cancel memberships or signed up through deceptive means. On the other hand, every single penny of tariffs that need to be returned should go back into consumers pockets where that came from.
#msg2210076ParksideRes : So why is Trump involved?
