Debi Gomez of Life’s Images Photography created the Hope Calendar fundraising project in 2006. The calendar features Ms. Gomez's photographs of Houston area children, and each year a local family-oriented charity is chosen to receive all proceeds from the sale of the calendar.
“I wanted to create an annual event that would inspire the community to support local family charities,” Gomez said. “The Hope Calendar blends people’s love for children with their natural desire to help one another. Each year we invite local children to be photographed and enlist the help of community sponsors to cover production costs. Houston area businesses are excited to support the calendar and that support allows us to donate ALL proceeds from sales. The Hope Calendar has raised over $15,000 for local charities, so not only is it a fun project, it is a very rewarding one as well.”
